The Samoan Sports Association received a record breaking number of applications this year for their annual Junior Scholarship Progamme.  There were 85 applications in total, representing sportspeople from a diverse range of sports (Canoe Polo, Kilikiti, Surf Lifesaving, Lawn Bowls, Skating, Taekwondo, Netball, Basketball, Trampoline, Aerobics, Touch, Volleyball, Hockey, Swimming, Water Polo, Karate, Athletics, Soccer, League and Union).

The Official Judging Panel consisted of two members of the Samoan Sports Association Executive Board and one guest Judge from Major Sponsors AUT University- Pasifika Advancement Office.
Applications were viewed and screened (checked against factual evidence) to ensure each applicant had a complete and verified application.

As a result of this year’s judging process, we are very proud to announce that sixteen (16) successful applicants have been named as the 2009 Scholarship Recipients.

It is always unfortunate that we are unable to award each and every applicant with scholarship assistance but we do sincerely appreciate the amount of time and effort that goes into application preparation, and for this we thank you.

We wish our applicants all the very best in your sporting endeavours in the future.
